What's the conCERN?

If you are reading this it means that the world hasn’t been gobbled up by a black hole created by the new CERN Hadron Collider in Switzerland. For that we must all be truly thankful. This device is the largest and most expensive experiment undertaken by humanity for the purposes of finding answers to some of the most fundamental questions about the very nature of matter and existence. It could reveal other parallel universes and even give rise to time travel. All these are a possibility, at least in theory. What a fascinating universe God has put us in to ponder and explore. How more incredible the ingenuity of man to be able to create such devices.

Let me introduce you to another type of particle accelerator. The US army in Iraq have got some new "black project" toys that they are just itching to test in the field. They are described as “directed energy” weapons and they sound like something straight out of Star Wars. They are described by witnesses (who survive) as being like lasers or lightning. They make no noise, there are no projectiles and are instantaneous in their effect. People and vehicles are melted and shrunk.

More mystifying than peering into dark matter is peering into the dark soul. How are we as humans capable of such wonder on one hand and such horror on the other? Surely the man who has yielded himself to the demonic is the most dangerous weapon of mass destruction on the planet.
